it would ruin this statement if there werent buffalo in Buffalo....

Nope, no buffalo in Buffalo, New York (NOT Buffalo city). Maybe there's some at the Buffalo Zoo, I can't remember, as it it's been a few years since I've been there.

And for the record, only the rest of the country calls them "Buffalo Wings". Here, they're just called chicken wings, and there's no special sauce or recipe to them - they're just plain wings.

Chicken wings were invented by a local Buffalo eatery, the Anchor Bar, who were looking to use a part of the chicken they previously discarded. My parents were at the bar the first night the owner asked some of his patrons to try them. They said they were pretty good, but who knew, at the time, that they were the test subjects for what would become one of the most popular American fares?

sorry to bust your bubble, but if there's any buffalo in buffalo, they're in a zoo. maybe out in the country in upstate new york, but definitely not buffalo
