I failed.... I was driving pretty good but, the a** hole examiner deducted 95 points.

- how did you fail?

- how many times did you take the test?

***When switching from the right lane to the left lane, what shoulder did you look over?

I passed the road test without missing a point, i almost did though because when i started i was driving with one hand but i started using 2 before he said something , if your gettin in the right hand lane you should be looking over your right shoulder.
Heres a tip, dont take your road test on busy days, try to take it on like a wensday at like 10 or 11 in the morning when the traffics not to bad, and make sure there are no special events going on in town that might congest the streets anyway.

I Failed the first time...and the secong time!

I failed the first time because the examiner was an @ss-hole and I was really nervous...my broken U turn was horrible and I wasn't paying to the road...

Second time I failed because I was on a left lane and I had to make a right turn..as I was doing that, I didn't look were I was going, didnt signal just turned, lol, he put his foot on his break and I automatically failed. Good thing was that the second examiner wasnt as @ss about it.

I don't think Ima go for a third time till I get more pratice..I live in NY City so I really do need one but its good to know how to...just in case.

Good luck!!

I failed it the first time. I was good with the driving, but I couldn't parallel park. Look over the left shoulder when moving into the left lane, because not everything will show up in the rear view mirror or side mirror.

I passed on the first time, but to answer your question, I look over my left shoulder and check my mirrors when switching from the right lane to the left. Better luck next time.

First of all I passed even though I slowed down just a little over a speed bump...( I never saw one b/4) Long time ago.............
Any way, there were like three of them in a row, and you can picture the officer and me going up in the air a little for three times.....With his pen in hand and he was making notations, He turned to me and said, Mam do you know what those are for??
I seriously said, No sir, but they should get them out of the road. because they are going to cause an accident!!!! He had to laugh because he could tell I was being honest.....He explained them to me and we both laughed....I passed with 100%..
(Sorry) I had to tell that story........
When switching from the right lane to the left, you not only look over your left shoulder, but you should make it a habit to look in all three of your mirrors all the time..........No matter what you are doing. (.Always check while driving from time to time.)
And hon, don't cuss out the officer.....You did something wrong, not him.....And it was for your own good to teach you something
Now go study your manual....Good luck!

i failed the written one twice before i got it (those damn drunk driving questions). but with the actual driving test: in my state they were just passing a law where it would take longer to get your drivers lis. i took my test the last day before the law took place (no pressure right?). there were two people before me (I went early). first one run over a curb pulling out of the DMV parking lot! automatic F!! the next girl was using her brothers car and didn't know how to use the whippers and blinkers. the examiner told her to figure it out or F! then all of a sudden it was my turn. I did OK. went over the speed limit once to twice. but as I was waiting for a light to turn green a friend pulled up beside me and started to yell asking if i was going to a party the next day. the examiner acted like she didn't hear but i saw the smirk. But i passed and glad it is over with.

Don't fret. Get over the first loss and now you are a pro at it.
from right to left lane...Rule of thumb look in your rear view then your left mirror (drivers Side) then look in your left hand blind spot.. OVER YOUR LEFT SHOULDER the direction you want to go.....Oh ya my daughter got it on her third try...
1. Didn't set the P brake when parking on a hill
2. Didn't know how to turn on the defroster/AC...GEEZ
3.....She got it.
Don't get to much adreniline flowing before the test....thousands do this test daily and thousands fail the first time.
GOOD LUCK on #2

I failed on the first try.. Of course, I was driving a 1958 Impala, a real lead sled, no power steering, so, of course, the very first thing he wanted me to do was parallel park.. that ended the driving part right there.. LOL
Went back in a car with power steering and passed..

Gosh.. it was over 10 years ago.. and I actually passed... I lost points though for not using my blinkers soon enough.. and he said I needed to dot he speed limit, that it was dangerous to go slower.. Good luck next time.
