Well, being as serious as I can be, didn't your teacher tell you? She/he should have told ya that..
When is it due? What program are you using? If you're using Word, you can do a save as, and save it single spaced, then, do a save as and double space.. as for the actual double spacing, once you've saved it as a single-spaced document, go back in, highlight the essay, then go to format, then to paragraphs, then click Spacing, and then click where it says Single and change that to Double and it will automatically double space for you, and then save as and add ds to your title so you know which is which.. thennn, print both off and carry it and turn in the right one. :)

It used to be the double spacing was always the way to go. But more and more teachers are asking students not to double space. Your best bet is to check with your teacher how they want it done. Some will say to double space or give you their preference.

Most likely you will need to double space, it is easier for the teacher to read and make comments on. I would use double space, 12 pt font and 1 inch margins if the prof. did not give you any guidelines.

If the teacher told you to do so you have to. If you use double-space it will be easy for the teacher to grade it, and attach brief notes.
Also, your essay will have a nice presence and it'll be easy for others to read it.
This is not just a way to make teachers' lives a little bit easier it is also a way to learn how to present your documents.

If you have some reserved space on the sheet for your teacher to make corrections - then you can go for single spacing. Otherwise it is ALWAYS double-spaced.

Most of the time, in my experience, you should double-space the essay. However, each teacher's a bit different on what they expect, so check with him/her tomorrow.

I always go with 1.5 that way there is room for the teacher to write in corrections but it doesn't look like you are trying to write less by adding space.

Most professor want things double spaced, and most official writing styles [APA-MLA] are double spaced. However, check with your professor if you have a question. He/she may have something else in mind.
