Open up your computer and make sure the soundcard is installed correctly if it a plug and play sound card. If it is a onboard check to if the jumper pins installed to sound.
If you have an onboard and p&p sound card maybe you have a hardware conflict. You would have to disable your onboard sound card in order for it work.
If it not a hardware issue then you can download it off the manufacture's site if it onboard or if a p&p sound card then you can go to the manufactures site and download it from there. Then you can install it again.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

Is this onboard sound or a separate soundcard? If onboard, check your motherboard's manufacturer's website for sound drivers, if separate soundcard , check the soundcards website.

i dont know wat ur talking about with the "motherboard cd" but just look for the model of ur sound card and download their drivers again and go to start, and right click my computer and click properties, then click on the hardware tab, and device manager and under sound, video and game controllers, uninstall all the drivers from ur sound card and run the driver's installer

Motherboard cd ?? You meant CD driver ??
If it's so..Try ASUS, like mine, it's ...hardcore
Or if it's about soundcard..You should contact the manufacture's web.
