I have 2 goldfish and 2 zebra danios in a 10 G. tank. I'm giving the goldfish away and getting a heater is this ok?

You don't want to cause your fish any stress so stick with 2 degrees per day. Heaters can be very temperamental so make sure you unplug it for water changes and wait at least 20 minutes before you turn it back on so you don't shock the mechanisms.

That's fine, just do it very slowly so the fish adjust to the temp. I've read 1 degree every hour, then someone told me that more than 4 degrees a day is harmful to them. Try looking at these forums for best info.

yes you can, and you actually should, tropical fish need warm water, and indoor tanks cannot provide that heat unles you have a heater.
do one degree a day until they reach the right temperature, and it will be just fine, just like a season change for them.
good luck :)
