okay, so here's what happens.
your piercer will clean the spot (top or bottom) you want pierced. and NO you don;t have to pierce both. the piercer will make the mark. the the CLAMP is a tool they use to guide the "needle". picture an eyelash curler with two flat metal ends with a small hole through each. the "needle" is a hollow bar that pierces you. the piercer puts on the clamp and you need to be completely still while he piercs you. it doesn't hurt more than a pinch. the only discomfort you will have is when he puts in the jewerly. the piercing bar is straight, but the jewerly it curved, so when he puts in the curved bar it will be uncomfortable until the skin streches around it. just be sure to put bactine on it for at least 2 weeks.

Getting your belly done DOES NOT hurt. You can barely feel it. You'll be soooo surprised! I hated getting my blood taken and being poked with a needle, but this just doesn't hurt. In the healing process it might be uncomfortable to a little painful, but nothing you would squirm over.

A clamp is how they hold your skin away from your body. That is probably what "hurts" about the piercing. It makes you think it hurts only because it is pinching your skin. If you realize that, you'll do great.

A barbell is just a little bar that goes through the two holes you have in your new piercing. They come in all kinds of colors and they are very cute. You make them about you!

Have fun and don't stress. It's awesome :)

Belly button pericing doesn't hurt, it's afterward that it will for a few weeks. You can get either the top or the bottom, whichever you think will look better. Most people get the top done. You'd never but a barbell in a bellybutton a stud is like J shaped and doesn't dangle, you could get a CBR ring which is a small closed ring, or you could get something with a dangle which I would not suggest because it could get snagged on your closes. After the pericing heals you could put a dangle in. When you do ge it done just close your eyes and breath.

Personally i think u should wait a couple of yrs. just incase u take a growth spurt which could affect ur piercing.Thats also why there are age restrictions (well there are in uk - no under 18's) But in answer to ur question - no it dosen't hurt, if u pinch the flesh around ur bellybutton then u'll get an indication of how little pain there is in that area. I've got mine pierced 3 times (all top) got my first piercing when i was 22.

I think it varies from person to person and belly button.

My cousin and my sister who took her to get it done .. said it hurt A LOT more than getting her ears pierced. It was hurting when she got home. And I have read on the web that this might be true for others.

No hurry. Get it, or don't get it. Don't have to pierce both. Might be difficult if you are aged 13.

No it doesn not hurt when you get your belly pierced, they just pierce right on top of your belly and I was scared too like you, but it goes by really fast and its only like a quick pinched and thats all, believe me my sister had to go in the room with me lol, but its only a quick pinched. well I hope this helps.......

well my good friend just got her navel pierced and unfortunatly she said it hurt. clamps are like rings ( i think) and barbells are those bars with 2 circles on the ends. and no you normally only get the top or bottom, not both.

good luck!!!!

I got mine pierced 2 years and it didn't hurt. There was just the typical sting and swelling, but nothing serious. It depends how sensitive you are to pain.

A bar bell is where there is a small ball attached to each end of a curved silver rod. http://images.google.com/url?q=http://altura.speedera.net/ccimg.catalogcity.com/210000/214600/214651/Products/7723470.jpg&sig=__vZyBocN3SjxZYOi8VDMl3-2diA0=

i think i know what a clamp is but i'm not exactly sure.

I got my belly button done four yrs ago. Just make sure you go to a good piercer, check out www.safepiercing.org and it’ll give you a list in your area. Anyway if done correctly it shouldn’t be bad at all. At least it was not for me.
