The Isle of Man although in the British Isles has its own laws and parliament. Great Britain only has responsibility for it in very limited circumstances. It was (and may still be, I wait to be corrected) the only place within the British Isles where male homosexuality had not been de-criminalised and anyone caught committing a "crime" in that respect could expect to feel the full weight of the law.

Unless its something sexual the only Isle of Man I know is the island off the NW coast of the UK. Alberquerque is somewhere else.
