I think that's an urban legend. Dead Man on Campus (the one with the guy who plays Zack in Saved by the Bell) is a really great movie about that.

I don't think it's true because then people would kill their roomates and make it look like suicide. People would do anything for a 4.0

20 years ago, I had heard (here in Ohio) that if your roommate dies naturally or commits suicide that you will automatically pass that year or semester - not necessarily get a perfect score though.
