Do you consier them to be white? I mean I'm Greek and I consider us to be mediterranean not white. Keeping in mind that most Greek people have a tanned to olive complexion and DARK brown to black hair =). What do you think?

In colour terms I would refer to most greeks I know as olive Skinned.

Unfortunately in any place I've seen questions about race, "Mediterranean" is not an option. The problem is that our current options are not all inclusive. I wouldn't consider Greeks to be black or white; our whole systematic classification needs to be either revamped, or perhaps a better option would be to discard the idea of race altogether. Usually there are nothing but disadvantages to racial groupings. What difference does it really make what color a person is? (Except to those people who either don't know any better and aren't smart enough to look beyond color, or to those who are either trying to gain some advantage or cry discrimination because of skin color...imagine how many problems would be solved if we could all see each other as people first with the same basic needs.)
But in our currently inadequate classification, I guess I would consider Greeks to be white, since they're not black, Asian, or Hispanic, or considered to be Pacific Islanders, either. It's as close as we can come given the limitations of the system we're working under. I think many Italians have similar coloring to that you describe for Greeks, and they're also considered white. It's an imperfect description for an imperfect world.

Actually, I have two Greek families that live next to me and they are a "treasure"! I love the old couple and thier son is a good fella, and thier Sister that live right next to them is a real corker :) LOL!!!
My wife adores them and helps them out all the time, with paperwork, and all that, and they bring us over some greek cookings, that are simply out of this world! We look after each other all the time.
I would consider them "people", great friends and neighbors. (My wife once told me to put a robe on, when I came out of the bedroom because "company was here"... I did, and then I saw the old lady who was my neighbor, and I said, "thats not company, shes family"!! (of course, I would have put on a robe for anyone comeing in the house, but, my neighbor 'knows' that she is as my own family, because she has been a "grandmother" to my kids, more than my own mother and father have been!
They are "white" to me. Or, they are the greatest people in the World. I love going to the Greek festival and hearing the polkas :)
And my Daughter has a greek friend she goes and spends time with, at thier house, a lot.

I go with whatever people prefer to consider themselves, really. I'm not much for labelling.
