I do. He just doesn't look like the type to hit 56 home runs.

That ***** uses steroids...he's never even hit that many HR's in the minors

no he's not. all these stupid people who have no evidence are just talking out their a**es. he's 6'4" 250 lbs. which seems like a pretty big frame to me. what kind of frame do you expect a 55+ HR hitter to have? no one was talking about a-rod juicing when he hit 57 HRs and he's a lot smaller than howard. howard has been a power hitter his entire career, even back to high school. and to the idiot who says that howard's juicing just because he didn't hit this many HRs in the minors, that might eb the worst argument ever. a lot of players never hit 40+ HRs in the minors, but they do it now. really, just because someone is hitting a lot of HRs does not automaticaly mean that they are on steroids. he doesn't get walked that often, so he has more ABs in which to homer. and last year he hit 22 HRs in only 88 games, so if you extrapolate to a full season he is doing better, but not all that dramaticaly especially if you account for his being a year older, stronger, and better adjusted to the majors. if you have evidence, REAL evidence, then you can talk otherwise sit down and shut up.

With all the steroid controversy these days, I wouldn't be surprised. I don't know about Howard though.

All sports analyzers say that whenever someone hits 50 + HR's in a season. Why aren't you saying stuff like that about Alber Pujols???

My guess, and my fervent hope, is "no"!

In his favor are:

He's simply a big, proportionately built guy who comes from a family of "big people". I've read this in a few articles.
He was regularly tested in the minor leagues, and he did put up big power stats in the minors as well.
This may be based on stereotypes, but his personality -- even-tempered, gracious, terrific, bright guy - just has me believing in him.

no i dont think, he uses his body strength to hot home runs, as do Pujols and A-rod. Notice all three of these guys are about the same build.
