Why is it that Liverpool are failing to start of to another campaign in a winning fashion, for the past ten years we have been constantly told that "this is our season" from the Evans era, to ince being the miisng piece in the jig-saw and houlliers magnificent seven(signings). Here at the beginning of another season with so much promise we are failing to convert games into wins and points (regardless of how well we play). When the board sacked Houllier we where told it was because if he failed after another season then the fans would not only turn againest him, but the board aswell. Now three years on we are in exactly the same position, so my question is that Is the problem the team or something more at Liverpool, something behind the scenes?? How can Everton five years ago be in debt and turn it around with such passion to get to the top of the league, same with Spurs. We know we have the players, we know we have the manager, so why has it been so long since we had the title???????

I think one of the problems is that the manager has not picked the same side for over 90 games. He must decide his best team and stick to it to allow the players to gel. Also new players have come in and need time to settle. It is very early in the season and bear in mind Chelsea have lost already this season as have Man Utd and Arsenal have not got off to a good start. I also think that other teams have improved especially in their tactics when playing the top teams eg Villa at Arsenal in the first game of the season. Liverpool will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season without a doubt.

i don't really think Benitez knows what he is doing. This is ridiculous the way they been playing. If they think they can catch up on at the later stage, they are digging their own grave. Really, what the heck is wrong with Liverpool ? It seems they will never win the EPL championship. They have to have the killer instinct but they are lacking this quality in them which is sad.

It's early days yet, give it time.
Manc Red, you are missing the point. It's not just Liverpool fans that call you SCUM, there are another 90 teams in the English football league that call you SCUM as well.
The reason being because you are SCUM, simple as.

its cos were a sporting team, n we like to give them a headstart, give us a challenge, makes life more interesting.
if we just go out n win, and we could...it'd be boring for the fans, we gotta give a bit of showmanship, like we did t'other year in champo's league, n again this year in t'f.a. cup, i mean didnt you have youer heart in yopur mouth, when we went 3-0 down, n came back n scored three times in eight minutes....
