That question is just a little to vague to answer properly. It snows every winter in California. I know that California has a reputation for sunshine and beaches, but it is one of the largest states in the union and has nearly every climate within its borders. Everything from extreme desert to very cold mountain regions. Some of the better skiing in the country is in California. The real question is where are you thinking of going. With that information you would be able to get a better answer about the weather. If you are trying to avoid the snow your best bet would be to go to southern California, San Diego or Los Angeles for example. If you want colder weather or snow you would want to go to central or northern California. Hope this helps.

There may be snow high in the mountains, which is nice if you want to go skiing, but you'll have to travel to find it. There might be some rain, but November through February is a great time to visit California, especially if you want to go to any theme parks, like Disneyland.

We used to always come here to get away from the snow!

It does snow in parts of California in December. The higher areas of the Sierra Nevada are usually covered with snow and there are many snow resorts there. Most of these are in the Lake Tahoe area. Ski resorts include Heavenly, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and more.

It does not snow along the coastal regions of California. San Diego is known for its year round good weather...I think the average high only varies 11 degrees or so in San Diego all year.
Go to San Diego for mild weather in December and to Lake Tahoe if you want snow.

If you want snow, come to Chicago. We'll have plenty. But if Cali is your thing, the further north you go, the more likely there will be snow. Merry Christmas!
