Well, if you want to put it on your puter from the cd, you don't need a burner, just go into windows media player and click on Rip and it will pull the tunes from the cd and put it on your puter.

depending upon whether it is an "audio" cd or a "mp3" (ISO/Data), if you go to my computer; right click on the drive containing the cd - click explore. A MP3 cd will list all the songs as their titles. An audio cd will tell you "track 1, track 2, etc". If it is MP3 - and you want to copy the entire contents, follow these steps:
while you are still exploring the cd; click anywhere in the window containing the files. Press ctrl and a (at the same time - this selects all the files). Next press ctrl and c (this copies them). You can now close that window. The simpliest thing to do for easy access is to create a new folder on the desktop (right click on the desktop and select new... then folder). Open that folder and press ctrl and v (that will paste those files in that location). I'm trying to give full directions the simpliest way because I have no idea how much computer skills you do have) These "controls" will work within pretty much every program (it eliminates the mouse and "mistake" clicking)
If it is an audio disk - the answer above for media player is the best route - good answer! :)
Hope all goes well!

You don't need a burner if you don't want to save it to a cd. Real player or Windows media player will copy the songs to your hard disc for you if you click on the rip or copy option. You could also copy the files directly from the CD onto you hard disc.
