I use it all the time. Just do not download any program files if you aren't sure of what they are. Make sure you have good virus protection if you are going to be downloading very much. Music files are usually safe to download as mp3's are incapable of carrying viruses. But download programs is risky if you don't know what your doing.

*edit to add* Limewire DOES NOT contain spyware as the person above me said. It is spyware free!

Sure! Why not? I've been using it for awhile. The only thing you have to be careful of is not to slow your computer down with excessive downloads. This can be avoided by not storing a lot of large files (like TV shows) permanently on your hard drive, and by occasionally "defragmenting" your computer.

It messes up my computer everytime I download it. Now I download the songs I want and save them in another program and delete the Limewire completely. When I would leave it running something was ALWAYS wrong

certain it really is, in basic terms deploy a sturdy firewall and a sturdy anti virus and make positive u do not receive small archives with extension .exe or scripts and so on. if the document you're downloading is an exe document, then make positive is over 1MB, otherwise is a malicious application or a contaminated document or a execution application to reason complications on your gadget. your firewall might want to bump into this style of document and also you settle on to terminate it correct even as they initiate ;).

Nope it is like installing AOL to a windows Millenium Edition operating system computer your hard drive will fail within 3-4 months and I know of someone who has a statewide Federal warrent for child porn being on his system that was put there by the limewire website. So use http://www.limewire.com at your own risk.

i say yes i use limewire all the time, however i have seen mostly .avi files have a tendency to be links to porn sites and/or links to infect your computer with alot of bad stuff. if you use limewire you should not let it scan your computer, and you should create a file folder seperate from it's default. and turn off anything you don't intend to use in the options menu.

Don't ask your question several times or you will end up getting reported.

Yes Limwire is perfectly safe, and if you use it safely then everything will be fine.

I'll tell you this:

LW is not virus-contaminated, but the files you download are. NEVER DOWNLOAD ANYTHING about 837 kb (not sure of exact). It contains virus W32.IRCBot or something.
