All snakes irrespective of the country of origin are completely blind and deaf and yet are one of the most fearsome predators available, this is because it is capable of receiving and interpreting vibrations from a long distance,this same ability is used by snake charmers in India and other countries to make it dance, while the snake is unable to hear the music it is able to feel the vibration of the "been" and sways in response to it, most if not all of these snakes used for exhibition have had their poisonous gland removed, further long periods of captivity errodes their instinct for attack and all that it tries to do is defend itself from what it instinctively feels is a threat

Snakes are deaf.They cannot listen to music or any other sound for that matter.Have u ever noticed that the flute that the snake charmer uses has a piece of red cloth tied to it? The snake is actually observing that cloth and moving with it,which makes people believe that its dancing with the charmers music,But in reality its not!

Hey dear,
its not the music that attracts the snake...
its basically scientifically proved that snakes don't have ears i.e. they cannot hear....
its only the movement of the bin of the snake charmer that makes the snake move in that direction...

They are attracted to the movement of the pipe the charmer is playing.

That's an urban legend. It is supposed that the snake is in a kind of spell or trance.

it's not the music, its the movement of the charmers instrument, sorry i don't really know what they play.
