Well do you know how to solve it? Let me explain that to you rather than just giving you the answer, so that you can solve more like this. First off, you wanna get rid of the 3, so subtract 3 from both sides of the equations. Remember, you want only A on the one side of the equation, so do whatever you have to do to get it by itself. Just remember, whatever you do to one side, you must do to the other side. So, first get rid of the 3 on both sides. This gives you 4a = -8 (You get -8 on the other side because you subtratced 3 from the -5 on that side as well as the other side. After you have 4a = -8, you need to get rid of that 4 on the left side. So divide each side by 4. That makes the a all along on the left, and gives you a -2 on the other side... So, a = -2.

Hope this helps.

Tha't easy..
4a+3=-5
-3 -3
4a=-8
a=-2

See 1st you have to subtract 3 from both sides so you can get red of the 3. Which leaves you woth 4a=-8.
Then divde both sides by 4.
So your left with a= -2
It would be easyer to show on paper but this is just as good. I AM SURE THAT THIS IS THE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! POSITIVE!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!=]
