MAIN IDEA
The Main idea refers to what a paragraph or an article is about. "Main" means what is important, or key, the heart of the matter. "Idea" means the thought, the thesis or the topic.
PLOT STRUCTURE
The plot of a story consists of the sequence of events that occur in a story. In popular fiction, the plot is considered to be the most important element of the story, and most plots follow a structured formula containing the following elements in the following order:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Exposition: orients the reader to the setting of the story (time and place) and introduces the characters.
Conflict: the primary obstacle that prevents the protagonist (main character) from reaching his or her goal. The most common conflicts are man vs. man, man vs. nature, man vs. society, and man vs. himself.
Rising Action: the complications that occur within the story, prolonging and developing the central conflict.
Climax: the point of greatest tension in a story; the point of no return. Think of the climax as being on the top of the roller coaster in the front car, just before you begin your descent.
Falling Action: the result of the conflict is revealed in the falling action. To continue the roller coaster metaphor, the falling action would occur as you begin the descent down the hill.
Denouement: the resolution of the story. The denouement ties up any loose ends in the story.
APIKORSIM
Heretics who reject the teachings of the Rabbis.

Ivan - check the spelling of the 1st word? I can't find it or even the "root" of the word. Send it back out as a sentence. #2:the idea i.e.:you invent paper cups, but the MAIN idea is the person who invents the lid! Get it: the definition would be the idea that supersedes all others.#3:the plot is the main part of the story, let all that you see on T.V.,but if the "structure" sucks, you will change the station. Get it: the definition would be: that which constructs the plot. Ask the first question now, while I am still on YahooAnswers - good luck Ivan - tell us what grade you are in...

Huh? Be right back.
Can't find apikorsim in any dictionary...could you mean epicurism?
Found it:
He was deeply pained at the situation of Eretz Yisroel’s secular educational system. He wrote in this connection: “Forty thousand of the children of our people are being educated in schools which are such that the children will not turn out to be apikorsim (heretics), because they will not know enough Torah to be able to rebel against it, but will turn out to be ignoramuses.”
main idea is axiomatic. Main idea is main idea.
Plot structure...linear plot structure is usually
point of attack...where the story begins
expostion...introduction of time, place, history, characters, etc
inciting incident...that incident or event that begins the quest, super objective, motivationg force of the Protagonist aka hero,
Rising action...series of complications, obstacles usually precipitated by the Antagonist (which may be a person or a flaw in the Protagonist), also called crises that moved up to the Turning point which comes just before the Climax or may be a part of the Climax where the objective is reached which should be accompanied by recognition of a 'truth' by the Protagonist and usually results in a Reversal of fortune (this is specifically in tragedy) In melodrama the Protagonist triumphs and carries off his prize in glory. (These things can vary due to the writer, the genre, i.e., tragedy, comedy, melodrama (most TV shows are melodramas - Million Dollar Baby came as close to being a classic tragedy as anything I've seen in a long time....Then, of course there is the Resolution to tie up the loose ends.
