yes. but the bigger you make the ring, the more they have to stretch and thin out the material. so the bigger you go, the more likely it is to break

Yes but it is important to ask if they stretch the existing material or add more, If the width of the band is thin then stretching will make it weak in places. If the Jeweler adds more material you will want to make sure they use the correct material, some use a substitute alloy and it is very noticeable.

yes. it can be stretched or something similar. you can only do this so much to make it so big though before the metal is too thin to where it could break. This happened with my mom's wedding ring...unfortunately she's never been able to lose all her baby weight after having us 3 kids & they could only make it so much bigger so my dad bought her a new one for their anniversary one year. It was actually better looking than the original.
