These are devices used many years ago on cameras. They had four bulbs. One on each side of a square shaped device that plugged into the top of the camera. As the picture was taken and flash activated, the cube would revolve placing a fresh bulb in the forward position of the camera facing the subject.

A long long time ago Cameras did not have automatic flashes, flash cubes had 4 flash bulbs in them and turned to a fresh one after each picture...
A small cube that contains four flashbulbs and that rotates automatically to the next unused bulb when a picture is taken with the camera to which it is attached.
