There has never been, or ever will be, a more talented songwriter than the man himself. He is an utter genius, and must have been born gifted to have written the songs he wrote during The Smiths era. His solo material though definately shows the lack of Johnny Marr's input - another under rated genius. Together they worked, apart they didn't. The story is old, but it goes on....................

He's a morbid get, who isn't as much a genius as everyone makes out. If their was any genius in the Smiths it was Marr. Having said that though, some of morrisseys recent stuff has been alright.

he is a miserable genius end of though if i had his cash and talent and reputation and lived in los angeles i think i would be quite jolly!

morrissey is great!! you either love him or hate him!! i love him but know loads of folk that hate him. my dad thought he was the most depressing singer alive until he heard "the first of the gang to die",he actually bought the album and likes him now!!!!
