I haven't seen that much of the world, but my answer may surprise you. I think Washington, D.C., is really very beautiful. The monuments make it so, and the landscaping. Many of the older buildings are designed around literally classical themes, and they were well done out of patriotism as much as for any other reason. The older ones at least were built when pride of craftsmanship was still a big deal, especially working in the Nation's Capital.
The cherry blossoms in the spring make it really rather like a fairyland. It's not, of course, far from it. But it is rather pretty.

in my opinion, beauty is unique, so Hanoi - Vietnam is the most beautiful city in the world.
you can find nowhere similar to Hanoi. Really!

I used to think Strassbourg France but I live in Copenhagen right now and I am starting to think it is a really amazing city. Florance, Italy is right up there too though.
