Tony started with the basic Gibson SG, but moved to very similar looking custom models by Partick Eggle and Jaydee guitars. His current Gibson Iommi signature was actually modelled after the Jaydee.
Not everyone realizes this, but Tony plays with a handicap. He had the tips of this middle and ring fingers on his fretboard hand cut off in an industrial accident and taught himself to play with plastic bottlecaps covered with leather over those nubs. He was later able to afford proper prosthetics. One of the key components of the Sabbath sound was the detuned sound, which he did to ease the string tension and the ultralight strings, which he originally made by twisting up banjo strings.

Tony Iommi primarily used a Gibson SG. Other guitars include:
Epiphone Riviera 12 string, modified for left hand use.
Gibson Barney Kessel, lefty
Jaydee Custom SG - number 1
And Tony's first lefty was a Fender Strat. This one was used on Wicked World.

Gibson SG is one of them I know of... If u go and buy this guitar- play if before you buy- it has a punch! Not like a Fender (which I love- an old Tele is the best to me!!!), my friend has an SG- plays it through a tube MArshall amp- and it will blow yer socks off...

Gibson SG. Now if you really wanna sound like him than you should try cutting the tips of your fingers off.... just so you know that was a joke, I don't want to get sued!
