There r free health care options that ur dad may qualify for, even if he works. U will have to find out what type of services there are depending on where u live. If ur in the U.S. do a search for medicaid and other managed care plans.
Good Luck.

Well, have you tried getting him a medical card through the state? He really should have it looked at asap. I don't want to scare you but it could be melanoma.

Maybe you could get him to the doctor, and offer to pay the payments on the bill. Even if it is only 10 dollars a month. This could be really serious. I don't see how they could refuse treating him.

I pray that it isn't serious. My heart goes out to you! Another way to be helpful is be there for him as much as possible. They really appreciate it. My dad has lung cancer. I am not bragging myself up but I have been there through this whole thing with him and he really appreciates me. I feel even closer to my dad than I was before this and we have always been close.

Try getting a book called "Surgery for Dummies" if that does not help then talk to a Funeral Director and have dad come with you to pick out his casket and the type of service that he would like, because it sounds like a malignant melanoma which if treated is pretty harmless but left alone he will be kicking it six feet under in less than two years.

sometimes you'll hear on the radio or see on the tv that in your area there are doctors and nuses checking for skin abnormalities, usually they are free, have him get it checked out.
If they say for him to see a doctor, and he is poor, then there are usually county services he can avail himself of to get that taken care of. Sometimes there are community services as well wherein they have a doctor (who could remove that if it's not deep or cancerous) for a minimal payment. He would, of course have to save a few dollars to get that done. For instance, I once had a pair of glasses (that usually cost about $200) done for $40. Most things aren't free in life so you have to pitch in "some" money to get services. If it's to be removed in the office he's probably want to see a dermatologist. I remember once getting something small removed and it cost me $40 years ago, probably is over $150 by now for the one visit..

You better make him go to the doc, whether theres money or not. You dont want to lose your dad. It sounds like it could be cancer....maybe not, but theres a chance. MAKE HIM GO.....NOW. Who cares about the bill.

For crying out loud he needs to get to a dr. It sounds bad. I dont have insurance either or money for a dr so I dont know what I would do... Call your county health dept and ask them.

if it retains it's round shape, I would think all is well. If it becomes irregular in shape and changes color, get to an MD, no matter the cost
