You will notice that there are no prisons for westerners. They are tortured, murdered, beheaded, etc. on the spot.

First thing, this war isn't for winning "the hearts and minds" of the iraqi people, nor does it have much relevance to the war on terror. What we are doing now is a form of imperialism, where we invade a country, and completely rebuild their heiarchy of power to our liking. I'm not saying Saddam didn't need to be taken down, but the fact that he killed those people had nothing to do with why we invaded iraq twice, him killing those people was a good public statment. Anyway, this war is and has always been for the oil.
Think about it, for the last week, oil prices have been suprisingly low, we must have secured a pipeline somewhere in Iraq. However, back to my point, America wanted to install a dummy government into iraq, just as it has done to serveral other countries, and usually, the leaders of the dummy government end of turning on america. Look at the news, iraq's president and Iran's president both sign some sort of treatie, and the us was against that. Not because iran's a "bully" nation, but because iraq will most likely go back to hating us and join with iran, and then gas prices will skyrocket again. Think about it, every move this administration has made has had more to do with financial gain than "freedom".

The only way to win the hearts and minds of these people is to do the right thing.
1st, impeach gw and Dick. Then negotiate another Jewish exodus. This time to the western hemisphere.
Much of Texas is undeveloped desert. Cut Texas from 40 miles north of Houston straight across to New Mexico. Money changes hands, all landowners are compensated and anyone who doesn't want to live in "New Israel" also will be compensated for their moving expense. Same for businesses, relocation and moving expenses paid for by Israel.
This ends the middle east crisis and solves the illegal immigration problem as Israel would do a much better job at maintaining the largest stretch of our Mexican border than the feds do, leaving them to concentrate along the rest of the border.
I know this sounds crazy, but so did sending them to the Palestinian desert 60 or so years ago. this could be done and would show the world that we have the ability to open our minds and use them.
Vote for reform, vote for change. Your grand kids will judge you one day.

It is shocking. That's what today's debate is all about.
Our strategy is like dragging a net in the ocean. We get a whole lot of fish we don't want in the search for the ones we do want.
Let's look at all of this under a different light. During the American Civil War in Missouri, Federal troops arrested and detained large number of Southern Sympathizers outside of Kansas City in an effort to punish the "Insurgents" (men like Quantrill, Anderson, M. Jeff Thompson, and other Southern Raiders).
In this effort, farms were razed, people were hung, and women and children were displaced. In one of the most infamous happenings, the building housing many displaced women collapsed, killing several. This fueled the fires of hatred for the Federal authorities and brought more young and old men to the cause of the Southern Raiders.
And if you read the history closely, you will see that throughout Missouri, similar acts of injustice committed by Federal troops made Rebel enemies where none had existed previously.
What is my point?? My point is that our actions today will the fuel the fires of still greater hatred for our nation. For decades, Islamic fundamentalists have fed their people a steady diet of propaganda castigating America as immoral...in a few more years it may not be propaganda...

This is what happens when you get 2 right wing fundamental extremist groups clashing. The extreme Islamist believe you must convert to Islam or die. George Bush says you're either with us or against us. Do you find any difference in either philosophy?
What's the difference between torture in secret prisons and cutting someone's head off on TV?
In life, a person always becomes what they fear most.

This stuff is all put out to degrade America. It makes all of us look bad and gives the world a negative take on America. I support my President and the military men and women in our country for a job that they do and have done. No makes good decisions on everything they do but I think the President's heart is in the right place and is compassionate about America. I will tell you one thing, if you think he is bad........just wait to see what happens when you elect that Democrat........old George will look like a Saint!!!

I don't see what the problem is. If you believe these reports, then you'd believe that Gitmo was as bad as the Hanoi Hilton. Fact is not one accusation of torture has been proven true.
The Geneva convention doesn't say anything about how to treat non-uniformed fighters, unregulated militias, or terrorists. And there is no way they should have rights granted by the Constitution. What should we do?

This sort of thing has been going on for YEARS, it's just been recently that journalists and the news media are willing to put it out there for all to see.
