Yes, there are nudists in India.
Nudism, however, is not widely accepted in India, due to conservative cultural beliefs and social values. I believe public nudism is illegal there, but there are certainly nudist groups.
The "Longest established" nude beach in India is Arambol beach, the northernmost beach in Goa. There is generally a considerable amount of nudism there, although I don't think it's precisely "legal". It has been, more or less, tolerated, however.
Also, historically, nudism was practiced by a number of Hindu yogis and holy men as a form of ritual esceticism, so there is a fairly significant cultural history for the practice.

No, puplic nudity is strictly prohibited in india.indian government doesnot allow this culture.
although there are some instances of people (mostly foreign tourists) getting topless in some beachside tourist destinations , but this is it.nothing more than that.that too happens in secure hotel environments.
