My iguana has stopped eating all vegetables about 2 and half weeks ago. He only eats the pellets. I tried not feeding him for a few days then give him only vegetables but he won’t eat them. I don’t know what to do.I feed him: colored and mustard greens, some cabbage, grass, some banana, apple, and squash and zucchini.

I own an Iguana and for one, one thing that you should never feed them is cabbage!! or Spinach very bad for them the rest looks good, they can be very finnicky eaters and they will pick through there food..and eat there favorites..For ex..my iguana Hezeekio will only eat the strawberries when I give them to him that is why I do not give them to him often..Try blending the vegetables together in a food processor or contact a vet he could be sick.. sorry..hopefully he is o.k.

At least consult a vet over the phone maybe he can give you ideas. It may be just be picky, however you really don't want to take a chance, they receive important nutation from veggies and fruit. He may need some electrolytes, sometimes that can unconstipate them and bring back appetite. He may also need more calcium or his UV light may need replaced, they can lose their potency over time even if the light turns on every morning. An iguana expert is the best way to go, but at the very least read a book on iguanas.

He may be in a season where he doesn't need to eat too much-If he eats and eats all the kibble you give him then maybe he is dissing the veggies-It may not be important that he eats his fresh veggies and may not want what you are giving him-If you are giving him fresh he may not like the taste-If you are giving him not fresh, same thing-If he is rather young he may be at a plateau of growth and not be hungry and will eat will hungry-make sure he has plenty of water and maybe he's looking for some live crickets or bugs, maybe worms-Hope this helps-

my son has an iguana and all he ate before we got him was the juvenile pellets( that look like fruity pebbles) and we have got him eating the canned food and lettuce and on rare occasions he will eat a banana. i dont recomend feeding him peppers of any kind.

Okay having two juvenile Iguanas myself I suggest you stop tring fruits they should only be given in smallportions try Escarole,or Romaine lettuce ,dandeliongreensand collards greens these should be your main staple foods available at most grocery stores.
