You'll probably have to pay a cancellation fee (Usually $100-150)and instead of getting a refund, you'll probably get a voucher for future travel.

You may if you had to pre-pay the air. If you look at it another way.. IF you bought it on line would have lost most of it.
It is always a good idea to buy the insurance, On line or off.
If it was a tour package, then maybe just 25.-50
Read the terms of your agreement.
If you have not put money down, then you have nothing to lose.

Make sure that you have a cancelation clause in the contract. If you don't, it will cost you money. You can still cancel it, but you'll lose a percentage of what you paid.

If you have a medical emergency, death in the family, military orders, etc... you can request an "exceptional refund request"
