Well built.
Well engineered.
Fun to drive.
Expensive to maintain.
Expensive to repair.
Built for the autobahn. Slow from a stop, fast while at speed.

I also think I can't wait for their new turbo motor to come out for the 3-series.

I am well aware of BMW's new maintenance packages, and they did that offer precisely because of what I'm saying, they are a high cost car and that scares away many buyers. I have a 2007 BMW 328i in my near family and yes it has the maintenance package.

Just because I say it is high-cost does not mean I can't afford it, what I mean is compared to other common cars, you pay more to maintain a BMW. An oil change on a 2007 Nissan Maxima SE 6-speed is $19.95 at my dealership. An oil change on many BMW's new and old can surpass $50.

The question was also BMW, in general, not brand-new-BMW's with a maintenance package only. ;)

Was fortunate to have owned more than 30 cars to date. Six of the last eight cars I owned were BMW`s - all 2001 onwards models.

Sold my Seven Series and the wife`s Three Series a couple of months ago. 3 of them were bought as brand new cars. Never had so many breakdowns with one brand. Will never buy a BM again. Nice to drive, handling is out of this world, but boy, is it an embarrassment to see them on the back of a roll-back truck!! My friends and colleagues had a field with me and my BMW`s. Replaced the BMW`s with Nissans.

Phantom`s comment - Funny we gave the 7 the nickname of the phantom - now you see it, now you don't - cause it spend more time at the dealers with breakdowns than in my garage.

I have a 1982 635csi in mint condition "tucked away" in the garage under its blankets. I don't regard her as a BMW.

did somebody here say that BMW's are not as reliable as American cars???? i can just imagine that person taking the bus everywhere because that person knows nothing about cars. I just bought my first BMW a couple of months ago and the car is amazing. People are comparing maintenance charges saying that its expensive but given that you dont have to repair them as often, it adds up to be the same. Oil change costs more on a BMW since its synthetic oil...and it only needs to be changed every 10,000 miles so you are actually saving money in the long run rather then pay $20 every 3.000 miles on the maxima...Mercedes used to rule the roads but in the last 10 years its nowhere near what it used to be...and even then they dont make any manual transmissions unlike BMW...which is boring to drive!! i used to vallet and so i drove many cars through the years...nothing handles like a bimmer....

I had a 1984 BMW 325e, and the odometer grew to become into broken with over a hundred and forty,000 miles exhibiting. It had extra miles than that on it, and ran like a dream. BMW's are especially sturdy in the event that they have been dealt with, and that i offered mine to a chum in 2006 (when I drove it for a twelve months and placed over 4000 miles quite on it) and he nonetheless has it to on the present time and has pushed pass usa in it two times without issues. yet customer pay attention, ensure you get it regarded at formerly figuring out to purchase by making use of an authorized mechanic as you will possibly be figuring out to purchase a concern. And a broken BMW is an high priced automobile to repair.

The editors at "Car and Driver" magazine, who are a collection of engineers and race car drivers, always rave about anything from BMW. The 3 series is a perennial favorite on the annual "10 Best" list.

People think they're great...but people are stupid. They're nice cars, but they're not even as reliable as American cars. Most German cars are lacking quality within the last 10 years. Especially Volkswagen. But if you want a BMW, get one, it'll probably be fine.

Well built auto. Nothing drives like a BMW.

Someone stated they are expensive to maintain. No true. When purchased new, all maint. is included typically. Only costs are tires, brakes & gas + insurance. If a car is "too expensive' to maintain it is time to make more money!

I'm not impressed they are overpriced carp driven by jerks although if I lived where they were made like in the Netherlands I'd probably drive one there.
