OK Now I have iTunes and it is a Great Music System!!! This Is What Apple Says,

The iPod family and iTunes are perfectly attuned to each other, so you enjoy a stellar listening experience. That’s because Apple designed and engineered the hardware and the software to work seamlessly at every level. It’s a match made in heaven.

Enjoy automatic transmission
Move hundreds of songs — including those you’ve bought in the iTunes Store — from your computer to your iPod in seconds flat. With the industry’s only true Auto-Sync, your iPod is always up to date, mirroring the latest changes you’ve made in iTunes.

Sum it up
Get at-a-glance information about the contents of your iPod right in iTunes. Check and allocate capacity, update iPod software, change your options, and see exactly what’s on your iPod, all in one handy summary.

Throw it in reverse
Now you can sync everything you buy on the iTunes Store back to any authorized computer. And lots of other things come along for the sync, too: song ratings, on-the-go playlists, voice notes, even audiobook bookmarks. It all syncs back to iTunes so what you see on your iPod matches what you see on your Mac or PC.

I Would Try And Load The Songs On Your iPod Onto Your Computer And Reload Them Back Onto Your iPod!Just Be Sure To Save The Songs You Have Somewhere Or I'm Afraid You Will Lose Them...

So Good Luck!!!

nope when the ipod connects with Itunes and updates it erases any song that is not included in your Itunes list. there was a program that would allow you to take the songs in and out of your ipod i´m affraid i dont know what was its name.

yes - but I think it will erase everything you already have on your iPod that isn't in your iTunes....your iPod matches your iTunes....I messed up big time with this when I first got my iPod - ended up erasing half my stuff.
