family A has 2 adults, 1 child. fam B has 1 ad, 1 ch. how to split util? 1/3s (33%/67%) or 1/5s (40/60) thnx

as part of fam B's justification, they are gone for 90% of weekends. fam A rebutts & says working and coming home late is comparable. fam B naturally disagrees. fam B thinks that since they have 1 adult and fam A has 2 is enough reason for 1/3s, but they've been asked to substantiate their reasoning.
please weigh in and tell me your thoughts. thanx!!!

This should have been worked out before they even moved in together. The extra adult isnt gonna make that big a difference in utilities, if any at all.
I say 50/50. Period.
