Why do refs continue to think that fans actually go to games to watch them and talk about them?
Although Dermot Gallagher made a mistake in the Thatcher incident, he's the type of referee we need, quiet, cards in pocket unless absolutely necesarry and people even forget which games he refereed.

he is a referee ,so what do you expect , they are all wanna be fotballers and with so many games shown live they actually belive that they are part of the entertainment on show, the sign of a good referee is when you dont notice them during the game,unfortunatly we have refs that think they are the stars Styles ,Poll, and rennie to name but a few and yes most are w*****rs
