Her name was Hilda, and she was testing the cow and discovered that milk came from it. Then she said "Of course, cause the calves always get milk that way", but she didn't want to suck the cow's tidts cause they were dirty.

She even had a small vessel with her, into which she squirte some of the milk.

It was a daye like many, and her heart was full of joy and wonder; and her dad was yelling far in the corn field.

Gee I never thought of this. Watching a human mother nurse her baby was a clue. Probably someone saw a calf drinking from its mama or even a dog drinking milk and thought they would try that out. The calf thrived on the nutritious substance, and since it tasted good they milked her and began feeding it to their children. This was thousands of years ago and it just escalated from there. Just an idea!

brilliant question! It was probably someone wacthing a calf feed, had an open mind and an empty belly and decided to copy. They soon discovered that if they sat to one side and used thier hands instead of suckling there was less chance that the cow would s**t on thier head.

A calf sucking a cow's teat is no different that a baby sucking her mother's breasts. Cows and human are both animals, where both "breast" feed their young. By observation alone, it would not be difficult for a human to surmise that she could extract milk from a cow's teat.

Observe nature all around U for the reason why, but the first person? Could it have been Eve, if she really existed.
