This is sort of funny, I've never known anyone to take that expression to mean anything about looks.

It's usually said by an outside observer, who sees two people together and can't figure out how one doesn't notice the flaws in another. Such as;

She obviously only wants him for his money-
He's never going to be able to hold a job-
She's dumb as paste-
He has three kids by three different women that he never takes care of! What is she doing with him?-

The reason why an outsider can see these 'flaws' in a person and the people in the relationship can't is because they are in love. And love is blind.

Sometimes they also say "You've got rose coloured glasses on", which basically means, you feel so good being in love that the other person only looks rosey, or great. Of course, after a few years the glasses come off, and that's when most people realise... "oh, crap".

Love is not Blind to ones outer appearance, it is Blind to that persons character. That is why people are clueless about somethings, it is because the love is Blinding them from wanting to see or admit the truth. Example if a spouse is cheating and he/she says they are just friends and nothing else is going on. Blinded by love that this partner would never hurt me in a such a way. So they let the subject drop. And so on. Hope this helps.

Psychological manuals would suggest natural selection. You can't see a woman from across the bar (Not that this is where I'd go to pick up a woman) and say, wow, she's interesting, or smart, or has a great personality.....you go with what you see first. The feathers of the peacock. I go for the heart. (But am usually bad at picking the ones with the good hearts)

Well, love IS blind, but when you first meet someone you don't know if you love them or not, you don't know ANYTHING about them other than what they look like. So that's why looks attract first. But no lasting relationship has ever been built on looks!

You could meet an attractive person, then get to know them and see they aren't so attractive on the inside. Or you could meet someone less attractive but then get to know them and find they are hugely attractive because of who they are on the inside.

In the end, love and who a person is wins out over looks.

And, hey, sometimes you have someone who is as beautiful inside as out, and sometimes you have someone who is unattractive on both the inside and the outside!

i don't like the time period blinded. perhaps Closed Minded? in spite of the undeniable fact that, issues will workout recurring and we are in a large reality stream at present and each day further and further persons are waking as a lot as reality. i develop into brainwashed with lies all my existence and each day I awaken, I awaken to extra reality because i'm not closed minded (anymore). Have your self a awesome second :)

Well love IS blind i reckon! When i first met my fella,I was embarrassed to walk down the street with him cos he looks really odd! he's bald, a bit fat, tall and lanky, he walks funny and one of his eyes turns out a bit and his ears stick out a mile ,we met online and his personality made me fall in love with him. He;'s so funny ,so generous and loving , the man of my dreams. I realise that my boyfriend looks the same now as when I met him but I only see him as attractive now and when we walk down the street holding hands I feel so proud.

Love is blind means you are in love with a person and you see no errors in them. In other words you think the person is perfect when in reality no one is perfect but when in love we are blind. If you don't believe me ask any teenager. Always follow you heart and not yiour eyes.

Because they haven't realised that if they go out with a "pretty" then eventually all they will be left with will be an old person they don't actually like. Go out with someone you get on with and still have fun when you don't look good anymore. One day, you too will be over thirty.
