I've ordered some new albums for the first time in ages and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on any of them:

Sons And Daughters - The Repulsion Box
Yo La Tengo - I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your As·s
Be Your Own Pet - Be You Own Pet
The Young Knives - Voices Of Animals And Men

The only one I know from that lot is The Young Knives, which is a fantastic album. You've certainly got your finger on the pulse. Great album.
I have heard of BYOP, as they're known in the muso press, sadly not heard any of the album.

Sorry, mate, the only one I can offer any guidance on is the one by Yo La Tengo (I have to admit I've never even heard of The Young Knives before!)

Best album of the last three they've done, more adventurous and varied, anyway, although I've always been a fan of their older stuff more than the new.

If I used 'President Yo La Tengo' as a benchmark of 10, then 'I Am Not Afraid Of You' is somewhere between 7.0 and 7.5, so it's a pretty decent buy.

The other one I really like by them is 'Fakebook', though that album's a bit too mellow for some.

I like the subtle word play in the title of Be Your Own Pet's album. Be You Own Pet. If it had a question mark after it, it would be even better.

Be You Own Pet? Me, I own pet. Be you might get one?

Or was it just a typing error?!

Why don't you just get all four albums. Go on, treat yourself.
