It sounds more like a urinary tract infection. The only connection with your having your period is that you may have introduced bacteria into your urinary tract while taking care of your period.
Drink lots and lots of water and avoid alcohol, coffee, sodas with caffeine. The uric acid in your urine is what is irritating you. The infection is what's made the urethra sore in the first place.
Cranberry juice can help reduce the feeling but if it continues, you need to get antibiotics at the doctors. Don't let it go on for days and days as the infection might go up into your kidneys and that is a much bigger problem. However, sometimes, drinking a great deal of cranberry juice and/or water will flush the bacteria out of your system and you heal yourself.

It does sound like a urinary tract infection. Go see your doctor to find out for sure, but I used to get them a lot, especially when I was pregnant and that's the same feeling I always got too. Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of water throughout the day and a glass or 2 of cranberry juice may help as well. Do go to the doctor and get checked out and possibly get antibiotics for it if that's what it is.

It sounds like you do have a UTI. Until you can see the MD, drink plenty of water and cranberry juice. Also, at the drug store you can get AZO over the counter. It helps with burning. It will darken your urine, so don't let that scare you. You can also get some over the counter cream to apply, but usually the AZO will help. Just don't wait for it to go away by itself, see an MD.

burning feelings really could be a number of different things (but I'm no doctor!). Various types of infections, perhaps an irritation of the type of pads/tampons you may be useing. Might be a coincidence that you begin your period and this burning comes - one doesn't have to have anything to do with another. As females we know that doctors don't examine us when we are on "our cycle", I would make an appointment to go see your g/p or gyn asap - if it clears up in the meantime - oh well, better to keep your health in mind and be safe than sorry.

sounds like you may have a bladder or urinary tract infection. it has nothing to do with your period. you could try drinking alot of cranberry juice, but if it continues or worsens you should go see your doctor. it's a minor thing, but don't ignor it, it can be very painful.

If it goes away after your period, don't worry. If it is still there say a week later, go get some help.
