well I live in the South too,and it isn't much about displaying it publically,but in attitude,then,YES!! ppl here are fearful of those they don't like/trust. I have seen Wal-mart clerks ignore mexicans,and down-right rude to Middle-easterners. So,yeah,restaraunts have been known to be racist to certain types of ppl.

I'm white and my husband is black. The reasuarants in our town do not show any signs of racism. Also there is no starbucks where we live.

Ive noticed there are no starbucks in the ghetto! They are racists! Black people want overpriced coffee too! Of course there is no Mista Browns Fish, Chips, Check Cashing and ECT... in the white neighborhood either, I'm sure white people want fried fish, check cashing and their car detailed all in one stop.

Noway..we live in South Texas and it is ok here..an as far as Starbucks I love that place whata cool place to hang out..with family and friends..even though we dont have one but larger city do..

Not at all StarBucks is a great place to go and relax while you have a phrap.

I really don't know. Our whole town is 99% white, but from what I have seen, I would have to say no, since my wife is Peruvian and they don't refuse her service.
