it shouldnt matter what kind of thought any one eles has on your personal expression.im 22 today and i have all sorts of body mod.they all have meaning to me and yas i get odd looks from elderly when they see my kids names on my inner forearms, but it was my choice and its not like i have skank on my body or trash or something like that.. if you want it do it hunny, for you noone eles.

I used to feel that way, but as long as this species has been largely bare-skinned, people have been tattooing themselves. The ice age mummies all have tattoos of some sort or another. The social more of considering them trashy is probably a holdover from the Victorian/Puritan era. There are some quite lovely tattoos I have seen on people. They should not be applied on a whim, as many are a permanent reminder of a temporary emotion or sentiment.
Don't have one, won't get one, but not near as grossed out by them as I once was. The ones that I find amusing are the homemade or "prison" tattoos. They do reveal SO MUCH about an individual.

A Tatoo isn't trashy. You should however think about what you want and were you'll have it put. Also before getting one, makesure that whoever is doing it knows what they'er doing and that the place is clean..
Maybe look around first is all I am saying..

ima girl so i probably shouldnt be answering this but...i think getting a tatoo depends on what kind you get. if its like huge, out there, and in like total view, then its trashy but, if its not crazy (like the indians did) and u can cover it up like if you have a job interview or somethin, then its good. and get something feminine not all devil worshipy.

I think it depends where you get the tattoo. I think its trashy when girls get tats on their arms and on the side of there necks but anywhere else is fine. I have two (one on my lower back, one on my lower stomach/hip)and want a couple more. And as for the people that say "It looks gross when your old and blah blah" just think that your going to look gross when your old whether you have a tattoo or not.

I think any "Tasteful-tatoo" is okay.....Like, I really liked Pamela's bobbed-wire, look, on her upper arm... I even thought about a tasteful, tatoo, on my ankle, as a ankle-bracelet, look... But, then sometimes, I think, that its not a good idea, in case I ever meet a guy who doesn't like tats on a woman.. My daughters dad had a "Fit"!! When, I got a small tatoo, of his initials, on the web, of my thumb and forefinger... I told him, its "Hideable" he grabbed me, and yells to my mom "Look what your daughter did to her body!!" what a "Snitch, hoh!!" But that was many years ago, and now, its almost gone.. it was a "Home-made" one, anyway.. I think if a girl wants a tatoo, its her body, and its her choice!! Forget everyone else!! I think the prettiest places, I've seen them on women, are just above the but-crack, the upper arm, and the ankle.. anywhere else, I think sometimes is a bit much.. That's just my opinion.. Smile!!!

They are a personal choice. I have two - waves around my ankle and a sea turtle - on the ankle bone. I was in my late 40's before I got my first tattoo, so age doesn't have much to do w/it. I like tattoos if they are well done (no home jobs) and have a personal meaning to the wearer.

It all depends on what you want. It is your body and do with it as you please. I think tatoos are sexy, but it depends on what they are, the size and where. I have 3 they are no longer then 5" and all are on my back. They can be hidden when needed.

Why get a tattoo? If you feel like being self expressive paint on a canvas, not your body. altho sometimes they look cool, i just dont see what the point is. I have felt the urge a few times, but not enough to endure the pain and possible allergic reaction that may follow. If I feel like drawing on myself I'll use henna? Is that what it is?

Believe me not ALL girls who get tats end up with "scummy biker dudes" and shoot themselves up with drugs. I am a college graduate who owns a business, I have two of the best kids in the world and a great husband...oh and I have 2 tats. Many of my friends have tattoos and they are successful as well, with great careers and families, so a tattoo is nothing more than an expression of yourself that you don't mind sharing with the world.

I'm a girl and i think its trashy. Once day you will get old and look saggy and disgusting.
