Take me to the Grain Belt bridge in Minneapolis. Get down on one knee and ask me. Tell me how much you love me and give me a small, silver band with one diamond. make sure I had a drink or two first, so I don't get too nervous.

My ex fiance (yeah we didn't marry) asked me to marry him just before the stroke off midnight New Years Eve 1999.
My friend's boyfriend proposed at a Fancy Restaurant. He ordered some fancy chocolate desert and one waiter came with the food and the other with a small Teddie bear holding a box.
My dad (1975) was certain my mom would say yes, so after a family dinner he saw my grandparents in private (they were still slightly old world) and asked for their permission for mom's hand. Grandpa said yes then dad went into the living room and got down on one knee in front of mom and the whole family and popped the questions. That was 31 years ago and it's still going strong. And Dad's STILL the favorite son in law. LOL

I don't really have an ideal way to get engaged...as long as I am in love with the man and he is being sincere that's all that matters to me.

to be taken on a picnic in the park, and during the lucioius desert portion take a ring out of your picnic basket and ask her then. During the picnic talk about how beautiful she is and how lucky you are to have found her. Make her feel special. How romantic. Definately do not do what my husband did. "Hey, u wanna marry me?" "Lets go get you a ring from Walmart." But I still said yes, so I guess it worked. LOL

Well I had this dream that my boyfriend proposed to me like this:
He rented a firetruck and outfit, came to my apartment, put the ladder up to my window, and when I turned around, he held up a sign that said "Marry me?"
But the real way he proposed was this: he made a picnic, we went to the park on a warm late spring day, and he just came out and asked "Will you marry me?" and I thought it was the sweetest way he could have possibly proposed...

After a gorgeous date of going to all of my favorite places he would say something like "Today was the best day of my life and for the most beautiful woman in the world to spend it with me just made me realize what I want to do with my life. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and do this every day. Will you marry me?"

I didn't wait for him to ask me I asked him.
When you know that you truly love someone does it matter who ask who to marry them? I asked my husband for his hand on Christmas. I asked his sister-in law what she thought of me asking him and she told me to go for it. So I did and I am not sorry that I asked him.
