do i have to play kingdom hearts chain of memories to understand the story of kingdom hearts 2 because i've playing kh2 for 5 hours now and i don't understand of what's happening axle is suppose to be roxas best friend but i don't even know him from kh1 please help?

You dont need to play chain of memories to understand KH2. Its just like that at the beginning of the game. Just keep playing and you'll see whats happening.

I'll tell you something,
you don't need to play chain of memories (it's quite hard to get 100% anyway). Kh is a 'what the!!!' game. so just keep on playing. By the way There is 2 Roxas'! The Roxas we are playing in the 'nobody' of Sora. Later on we'll meet the REAL Roxas; the Roxas of Organization XIII.
p.s. Axel IS Roxas' best friend. before they joined the Organization
P.s.s. Axel, Roxas & organization XIII doesnt come out in KH1

I don't think you need to play Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, you'll understand the story as you go on in the game and if you haven't played Kingdom Hearts 1, i would suggest that you get it and play it because KH2 is based after the events on KH1 and if haven't played it yet you-ll probably wont understand whats going on but again you don't have to play Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories.

no. i thought that to. i think chain of memories has some of the characters like axel. but no. u don't have to play it. it has more to do with KH 1. thats why roxas is having all of those flash backs of kingdom hearts 1. to remind players who didn't play KH1 what the story is all about. and if you haven't played Kingdom hearts 1 yet. then u should definantly play that one first. but again. u don't have to play chain of memories.

i played and finish the game and understand all w/out the chain of memo
roxas is number 13 of Organization 13 thats why axel said "number 13, roxas" he is also the nobody of sora. axel he is i think number 9 or 10 they where best freinds. the memories of roxas got erased because sora memories also got erased and also the fact that roxas can use the keyblade. organization 13 is a group of nobodies. i guess that covers it PS how old are you guys im 11

If i was you should play Kindom hearts 1 and Kindom hearts chain of memories because you wont know what happenened to sora at the end of the game you will get confused even more the song should help when you start the game because that part kinda told you what happened to sora kairi and riku.It shows you sora sealed kingdom hearts with mickey.Then saw kairi.But theres more then that at the end of the game whitch im trying to firgure out by beating Kindom hearts1 first becuase i have all of them.Get the guide to help you.You dont have to play Kindom Hearts just if you want to understand it better.:)

chain of memories introduced the organization so you would be a little lost as to what is going on but roxas wasnt in chain of memories so you dont have to worry about that you learn that later

no u don't and i agree with stephdave or watever that KH1 was better cus the 2 is to short and it was way to easy. but the 3 look cool from wat iseen from the special ending. if u haven't seen it go see it now go to youtube and seach for it if u are to lazy to get it the normal way

You DEFINETLY should play the first one first. You WILL NOT understand the story otherwise. Its really crazy and complicated in Part 2... PLLUS, to be honest with you, the first one is waaaaaaayyyy better. Its sooo much fun.
