I guess a better question would be what black woman does not wear a weave? I have alot of "black" friends and most of them have ruined thier hair with relaxers and glue in weave. I think it looks beautiful natural and they should leave it alone.

I don't think anyones natural hair ugly. African american hair can be really pretty just as long as you deep-conditon your hair monthly. From what my friends say, it is hard to maintain that type of hair, but your work does not go unrewarded. The celebrities probobly feel selfconcious about their own hair, and that's why they wear weaves and wigs, and nothing is wrong with that. If you are not willing to put a lot of effort into your hair, then weaves and wigs are a good thing. Good question BTW.

There are hair product commercials all the time featuring women who have the shiniest, glossiest hair you'll ever see, and it's completely obvious that someone has spent hours with oil and a comb making her hair look JUST RIGHT for that shot, and I think it sort of falls under the same category- it doesn't really inspire a lot of faith in their product that they have to fake it so obviously.

The food you see in TV restaurant commercials are made by human hand-so as to entice you into buying thier product. I agree with your last sentence.

you are absolutely right. People think they are going to get the same exact "results" when it is not like that at all. It is a "prop" to get their product sold. Just like when celebs have fake tans, and image enhancements in the magazines to make their skin look "perfect" and flawless.

that's a very good point. i also question why heather locklear does "blonde" dye commercials when everyone knows for a fact that she goes to a salon and gets $150 dye jobs.

Actually, it's not just with black women. Did you know that those special hair-shots in magazines, those girls actually have styrofoam under their hair making it seem bouncy?
