At least they made it this far. They usually tank by about June, so I am not going to complain too much. If they can make it too about .500 or a couple of games over .500, then I will consider it a successful season. Go Reds!

hey, i'm an astros fan. NL Champs finishing the season below .500. we got a bat (wilson), realease him, and then he finally starts hitting HRs when the cardinals pick him up. we pay millions of dollars for half a season for clemens and then he gets hurt. backe's out for all of next season and into the season after possibly. pettite's had a horrible season, and then when he starts getting better, he's injured. lidge, hasn't done much this year, where did the ERA above 5 come from? ensberg went from around 40 HRs last year to 20. lane has been hovering around .200 avg the whole season. the only consistent players we've had were berkman and oswalt. try winning with one position player and a pitcher. so stop complaining about the reds, they're beating the astros so far.

Can't blame Harang last I checked he leads the National League in strikeouts...little biased I umpired him through little league in Allied Gardens San Diego, Ca and District 33..umped with his dad Mike and his grandpa Dusty..even did the Cooperstown Dreams Park little majors tournament with Dusty (in Cooperstown NY)..Always a good kid/family..Also had Ricky Williams in around the same time..(of Heisman winning UTx and NO Saints/Miami Dolphins) another great kid..both were real pleasures to umpire their games....

In my opinion they need a better d*** pitching roster. Oh and what were they thinking putting a pitcher that has been injured up first, I mean yeah it's been a week or so since, but why take the chance when they are this deep in the chase.

The Reds overachieved all year, and now that the heat is on, their lack of talent is showing. It's sad, but true.
