Hi. I'm going to be a traditional Japanese girl for Halloween. I will be wearing a blue/purple with gold kimono and blue ballet slippers with a pink and blue fan to carry. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. What can I do for my makeup? Thanks.

Okay, you may be a bit confused. A traditional Japanese girl does not neccisarily need make-up. And she would not be wearing ballet slippers. Ballet is not orginated in Japan, therefore it is not traditional. If you are thinking of wearing make-up, the image you have may be of a geisha. The word geisha means artist, and in Kyoto, Japan, geisha refer to themselves as geiko, meaning women of art. If you want to be a girl, you may prefer to dress as the more elaborate Maiko, or geisha apprentice. Her attire is more flamboyent than the geiko. Now, if you choose to do this, you will need to begin with a white base make-up. Cover your neck and face, leaving only two strips of skin on the back o your nape. Next take red lipstick and paint only a portion of your lower lip. After that, apply white mascara to your lashes. Then taking bright red liner, line your upper lids. When you cover your face with white make-up, make sure to cover your eye-brows as well. After doing your eyes, using a black eye pencil, draw small eyebrows about an inch above your natural eyebrows. This should be what your face looks like. Now, whether you choose to be a maiko, or a just a traditional Japanese girl, please do not wear ballet slippers. I suggest the traditional geta or okobo. If you cannot find these, wedge flip-flops would be a good subsitute for Halloween. If you can find a wig, it would help alot, as even geisha wear wigs. If you do wear a wig, hair pins and silk flowers would be great. If you need more help, look for pictures on http://www.google.com

Hope this helps!

You could put on light blue or pale pink eye shadow and pink lipstick and some blush. If you really want to look like a japanese you should try to make your eyes look more japanese with black eyeliner or white face powder all aroind ur face but i wouldn't do that. I am actually half japanese but i look nothing like japanese. maybe you should look on google for some ideas. i've found a lot of things on google.

If you really want a japanese disguise you should wear at least a black wig. Use a powder which is almost white and a red lipstick on the inner half of your lips. And of course a lot of black mascara.
