If you haven't had any children, then it may NOT be true lactation. However, it can happen. There is a certain term used for what doctors call "false pregnancies": pseudocyesis. Your body starts producing hormones and behaving like if your were really pregnant (it even makes your belly swell). Best course of action, go see a doctor. They might be able to help you better.

You can, but it is rare. I breast fed all my five children (last two were twins). As soon as I stopped with the first born, I immediately got pregnant, and the same with the third.
Breast feeding does help with birth control, but it is not fool-proof.
