A Ten Pin Bowling party. A couple of games each and some eats in the Bowling Alley.
A day out at Chessington World of Adventures.
A Swimming Party. A afternoon at the pool with eats at a fast food restaurant afterwards.

how about a visit to a city farm? there's quite a few around south and east london and i should think that for 10 year olds who have been born and bred in london it would be something quite different! on a plus side it would be cheap if not free for you to take them there and then you can spend some money on dinner for them afterwards (somewhere like rainforest cafe or pizza hut is always popular with the kids). hope it goes well!

Its best to ask. Boys at that age tend to want it to be a boys thing so it might be going to play laser tag, an amusment park, indoor play arena, movie/pizza, etc.

It seems birthdays these days are getting bigger and the kids harder to please... LOL!!! What does he like? I would start there and roll with it. Personally I always try to keep the party age appropriate that way when they get older you can do more that he will appreciate!
