why do people answer questions on here and then write that they dont know the answer?? i only ever answer questions that im interested in, it makes me angry when someone answers mine with 'dont know' argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chill out - just how much of your time does it waste? While there still are humans on the planet, you'll get nonsense like that and worse. I would imagine that they do it just for the points - same as cheating at sport, some people feel great about an apparent achievement even if it is totally undeserved. These and others get a buzz out of irritating people, so don't show that it gets through to you - rise above it.

Well, I, too, try to answer those questions that I know or those that I am able to sourse for the answers somewhere. I think that those serious questions posted are trying to seek help, so I also hope that they can find their questions answered in a logical way.
But of course there are those like what you have asked here, I guess they are answering it for the points and most people are not using their real names, so they are not afraid in giving funny answers.

Well they only do it to get and easy 2 points.
I prefer to answer valid questions with real answers. Probably goes back to when I used to work in libraries for 16 years. Didn't like to give up on questions.
If I dont know, then I try and find someone who will/may.

Maybe they thought they could answer the question, then decided their answer was not very good. Is no answer better than a bad answer? But then again they could always hit the "back" button.

Maybe people just want the two points. Maybe they feel clever when they answer lots of questions, even if they don't say anything. Maybe they're just stupid.
