As a smoker I would tell a non smoker never to start. You know how much they darned things cost? Once you are hooked you have a difficult time stopping. Your hands will smell like an ash tray all the time, your nails and teeth will yellow. Most people who don't smoke will think you stink. You will develop a definite cough from the crap in your throat and lungs and possibly cause all sorts of lung diseases including cancer.

Bust him in the mouth for being an ar$e. Worst possible thing to do, wish I'd never bothered, just leads to all kinds of problems (plus herein the UK cigarettes are just ridiculously expensive - about a fiver a pack. Most people I know have switched to rollies now, much cheaper, but probably even worse for you in the long-run!)
Expensive, makes you smell awful, makes you look like an idiot, bad teeth n breath, need I go on?

Tell him to try one without tobacco, like a plastic looking cigarette people use to stop smoking you can in hale air and pretend much healthier! If he is a real friend talk him out of it, give him these reasons, girls don't want to kiss an ashtray
Your hair and clothing stink, you won't be able to taste food and it is very expensive, about % dollars a pack now, better to masturbate more, healthier and a lot less expensive!!

Let him be a man ! Start him on non-filtered Marlboros ! Start him off at 1 pack a day . then on the 2nd day , move him up to 2 packs. Until he is at 4 packs a day .. like John Wayne was . Then he can die of lung cancer at an early age and leave a good looking corpse ! That's the way to do it !

Continue to be a pal and don't get him started all, period.
Instead, let him know how amazed you are that he quit smoking, and encourage him to remain tobacco-free. There's absolutely nothing good or "cool' about smoking.
I used to smoke and quit over two years ago, and it's the best thing I ever did for my health.

If you were a really good friend you would tell him not to start the habit. If you wanted to stop smoking, could you stop? If your like any other normal person you'd find it very hard to stop. Smoking is delightful for those that smoke, it feels good. But for those that don't smoke, why start? Your friend is not missing anything if he doesn't smoke.

Start him off on the strongest ones possible. With any luck he'll puke his guts up and will be put off smoking for life.
While you're at it you might want to point him in the direction of some really good drugs that could also screw his life up.

If your pal is curious to try smoking but is deterred by the cost, get him to join you down the local 'battle cruiser' and scam some butts from the ashtray.

What you should do is everything you can to keep him from starting, and by this I mean the only best way to stop smoking is to never take it up in the first place.
