A leader is someone who demands attention without speaking, who can inspire people to the point where they would do anything for him, even follow him out of an airlock. Not that he would make them do that, but they would.

Someone who "walks" the talk, not just command from the back but lead from the front & by example.
Someone who earns respect, not demand it by virtue of rank or appointment.
Someone who is both knowledgable & wise, not an empty vessel who makes noise about nothing.
Someone who uses his power & position to benefit all & not himself or his peers.
Someone who is of integrity & morals, not money or power crazed.
