if so, then how do you explain the fact that human beings are male and female? Does it make any sense whatsoever for a species divided into two sexes to "naturally" produce same sex unions?

Yes and No

We are cerebral. We can learn new things override our instincts and make our newly acquired things second nature. Animals that have ability to try new things and learn from them can potential be homosexual.

Humans are of varied characters from those predisposed to violence to the very gentle. Environments vary as well from those in safe environments all their life to those who don't know what safe is.

No one can presume to know what another person is like or understand them. Let people live and just go on with your life.

We are are different because we like different things, we come from different back grounds, we have had different experiences. We were born different. This takes us all in different directions and homosexuality is one of those natural things.

But no one is born homosexual. Maybe more predisposed to it by the stuff above.

Like nobody is born overweight, there are genes that make one predisposed to it, but these gene have always been there but its only now with the change in culture that we have all these overweights.

We could say it is natural and normal to have all these overweight people in our societies given the current environmental conditions.

If it's not natural, it's rather close. I never chose it, that's for sure. I was also raised in an environment where the mention of it was absent by the time I realized it. After that, it was a very hostile environment for someone who was gay to live in. Therefore, as many members of the LGBTQ community do in self defense, I did my best to hide it by dating girls. I was never happy like that...there was never any romantic attraction...just a close friendship. Senior year of high school I finally came out.

Back to the question of naturalness, though. As others have said, many species of animals display about the same rate of homosexuality as the human race does. Your logic also leads to some very interesting points. If I were to follow it correctly, your logic states that all humans are supposed to mate else it is to be considered unnatural. Your logic also says that human beings are made in different races and so it would be unnatural for the different races to intermingle. You may not believe these things, and I certainly don't, but that's the exact same logical process you're going through here. All of it is absurd.

Also, the human species is far from being clearly divided into two sexes or into two genders. About 1% or so of newborns are born with ambiguous genitalia. Doctors then arbitrarily decide which sex the child will be, and as such, what gender the child will be raised as. Also note, sex and gender don't always line up, either, especially because of things like this. These ambiguous children are perfectly natural...obviously because they occur at all, and especially because of the rate at which they occur.

The human being is extremely complex. It's also very hard to define what is "natural" and "unnatural" through unbiased eyes.

Best anyone can tell, it's been around forever and is apt to always continue. It occurs in many species besides man. That sounds pretty natural to me. Besides, the argument of procreation falls short given the number of heterosexuals that aren't capable of reproducing due to the nature of their biology and the number that choose to not have children. Also, homosexuality does not preclude someone from having children. If you look at the history or marriage, for most of time it was mostly a financial contract of sorts binding two families, which is different than the modern way based on romantic love. I was born the way I am. I've yet to meet a totally straight person or a totally gay one that believed they made a conscious choice about their sexual orientation. It just is.

maximum gay/les/bi human beings are born attracted to the equivalent intercourse others its a call. Its now no longer a ailment, its in simple terms how some human beings are. Its been this variety because of the fact human beings have been around, Its very prevalent for persons to could desire to explor the alternative intercourse, why ought to or no longer that's from now on or much less basic to explor the equivalent intercourse. the only reason its placed unnatural is, thinking maximum human beings dont strengthen up around an enviroment with homosexuality. in spite of if because of the fact the type new generations seem, concerns are going to swap promptly, as they already are. Why its so fround upon? i do no longer understand, I extremely have now no longer heard one actual magnificent anwser to why that's. to this point as i'm concernd as a without postpone guy or woman i'm completely advantageous with homosexuality. there is not any somewhat harm being achieved, a guy or female can no longer help in spite of if be attracted to what they are attracted to.

Biology is very complex. One fact we know is that we, the living, are descended from humans who had sex, and offspring, and the children were strong enough to survive to adulthood, and have sex, etc. etc. Lots and lots of humans have happy lives not producing children, in fact raise others' children as their own, or just have pets, etc. Lots of humans raise their own children, but have miserable lives, but their genes travel on into the future. Some people are massively successful passing their genes into the future (Osama Bin Laden's father had 54 kids, or something), but have such terrible parenting skills, or unworkable families, that the offspring go terribly terribly wrong!
There is a lot of variation in peoples' lives and needs and destinies. But--there was an interesting cover story about the "social why?" of Homosexuality a few years ago in the bi-weekly magazine NEW SCIENTIST. The author theorized that homosexuality might not work for creating offspring, but that it's important for social bonding in some groups, and humans survive in groups, and that's why it continues to be passed down, as an evolutionary advantage.

There is an article from about 6 months ago about penguins forming same-sex relationships, I believe in New York Zoo? One of the biggies. anyway, these penguins groom and feed each other, have even adopted an orphan chick, and are raising it the same way a hetero-penguin couple would. The keepers have tried to seperate them, and introduce female penguins, but it hasn't mattered - they go back to each other.
Homosexuality does pop up in nature, just rather infrequently in comparison to hetero - after all, it wouldn't be very good for propogation of the species, now would it? Just because it's not predominant, does not make it unnatural.

Yes to me it is natural, because it is the way you were born, why should it be so black and white,it is not written anywhere that it should be,what goes on when you are in mums tummy before you are born,I'm sure that our genes go in all directions,so why do some people make such a big deal about it,I'm not gay but i have some very good friends who are, they are very kind gentle people who just want to get on with their lives like the rest of us,sometimes I've wondered if the world would have been a better place if we had all been born gay,and sorted out the population bit in other ways, hope this has helped you

What seems natural to one person is surely not natural for everyone.

Yes it makes perfect sense to have same-sex unions among every species. On a biological level they inhibit population growth, which in many societies is benficial.

Also, a study I read examined sexual behavior in giraffes and 95% or so of sexual behavior involved two males. Most cutesie pictures you see of giraffes necking is two boy giraffes!

Natural simply means "occurring in Nature". Primates occur in nature and homosexual behavior has been observed in many primate species, including man. Even if you don't consider man a primate, we are still part of the natural order. Master's and Johnson have films of a male porcupine that only responded sexually to other male porcupines. How can anything that occurs in nature be un-natural?

Hmmm, considering the fact that same-sex pairings are found throughout nature, and while they are not predominant, does that make them "unnatural"?
Actually considering the fact that overpopulation is and can be an ongoing issue producing a pairing that is capable of performing all the functionality of a "mated pair" without producing offspring to add to the issue of overcrowding seems perfectly natural.
