There are double standards in world politics all the time - politics is all about self-interest, it is the victors who decide what is right or wrong - the world power at the moment is the states - so their agenda goes, despite it being two-faced.

The British were the same in WWII whilst exposing the horriffic crimes of the Nazi regime, they ignored the crimes of 'uncle joe' Stalin who killed over 6 million people.

Don't you see how weak you are when you have to use physical, military means to get your idea through?

The US has been kicked out of Somlia once before and once again in 2006, the warlords and other scum bags they backed have had their *a*s*s*e*s* kicked out of hinterland.

Not enough? Heck, this time the yankies/yankees might invite the pommies along for the ride and blue-on-blue them again like they've done numerous times in Afghanistan and Iraq. lol

Like what everyone said, no economic returns.

Your 'narrow world minded yankees' were there once, trying to restore some law and order so thaty UN food supplies reaches those hungry and dying.

Got you Dr. Evil

What an idiotic thing to say. The act of murdering that nun was absolutely deplorable and unjustified, but to invade Somalia because of it? That has got to be one of the most ridiculous over-reactions I have ever heard. Do that, and how many will die, muslim and christian. What good would come of that?

It's not a declaration of war - it's an act of retribution, and utter stupidity. I'm not denouncing Muslims at all, just the minority of fundamentalists who feel violence is the way. And us? Well, invading would be as pointless as the shooting of the nun. Look at Iraq. Afghanistan. It solves nothing.

None of these countries have vast reserves of oil.

Neither do they have complex infrastuctures to destory only to be rebuilt by US Governement contracts to Haliburton (ie Dick Cheney).

These countries hold no logistical advantage (e.g. oil/power) or real threat for the Western World , so there is no reason to attack.
