Correction: Why answer in Tagalog when you CAN answer in English?

Well, because sometimes meanings get lost if translated to another language because of small nuances in languages.
I dont think there is a direct english tranlation for all the words of all the different languages.
But you do have a point, we should answer in english as much as possible so that other readers can appreciate our answers.

so long as the asker "quotes in tagalog", then it's a free site for us... if we do answer in tagalog, the asker asks it in tagalog... if he asks it in english, then we can answer in english too. i've seen questions or answers in french, japanese, arabic, latin, chinese.... but i never retort or ask them otherwise. it's what we call courtesy... they want to ask their countrymen in such manner, then respect the askers wish... same as the respondent's wish... just give a little respect on both sides, and everybody's happy.

why bother? are you a filipino? and in fact this is a philippines category. so why are you wondering if someone answer in tagalog? so just ignore those people because your in philippines category. and sometimes if someone ask in tagalog what do you expect us to answer? so please mind your own business of your not a filipino.

well if the topic is philippines based or the people are filipino, then of course people can answer in tagalog.

we use taglish... tagalog english.... and us filipinos our language is tagalog we speak english but english is not our national language... tagalog is...
